I don't know much about Rhyolite, NV, except it's the most godforsaken place on earth, and I've been in west Texas, so I know godforsaken. They mined an ore here (Rhyolite) so undesirable it's usually just crushed up for gravel. It does have a weird little ghost town, and crazy little art museum. Given my penchant for eccentric art myself, perhaps I was glimpsing my future.
