As you know, I love me a good road, and US 6 is just such a one. Starting (now) in Bishop, CA, it goes the while way across the country, caddy-corner (it is that just kiddy-corner) to Provincetown, Mass. I say *now* because it used to go all the way to the Pacific, until it was unceremoniously demoted in 1964 and cut back to Bishop. And I say brother to Fifty because there aren't many trans-con roads left that aren't interstates.
